Location: The Port of Mundra is situated in western India in the Gulf of Kutch. General overview: The Port of Mundra is the largest commercial port of India. It is owned and operated by Adani Group. Mundra consists of 10 berths for handling dry & break bulk cargo, liquids, containers, Ro/Ros and crude oil. The Mudra Coal Terminal is the biggest coal importing terminal in the world (40 million tonnes annually). Old Port: The port consists of a roadstead anchorage, a lighterage/coastal jetty and a privately owned salt loading jetty. The port consists of 8 multipurpose berths capable of handling break bulk, dry bulk and liquid cargoes. Terminals: - AMCT (Handling Containers) - MMPT 1 (Handling Bulk, Liquid & General Cargo) - MMPT 2 (Handling General Cargo & Bulk Cargo)' - MMPT 3 (Handling General & Bulk Cargo) - SPMs (Handling Crude Oil) - Adani Container Terminal (Handling Containers & Ro/Ros) - West Basin Terminal (Imports of coal) - South Basin Terminal (Handling Containers) The port also imports fertilizers and timber and exports bentonite lumps and steel products. There is an offshore SBM facility capable of handling vessels up to 414,000t displacement. Handling Equipment: - 6 Liebherr Cranes (100t) Traffic figures: Approx. 16,000,000t of cargo, 850,000TEU and 375 vessels handled annually.
