General Description
Location: The Port of Navlakhi is located on the island of Navlakhi Bet at the head of the Gulf of Kutch, on India's W coast approx. 180km from the Pakistan border.
General overview: The Port of Navlakhi, operated by Gujarat Maritime Board, is an all weather lighterage port. Vessels load/unload at anchor to self propelled barges, only two vessels may work at the anchorage at any one time.
The main exports are salt and soya bean extracts, chief imports are food grain, fertilizers and coal.
Navlakhi has the capacity to load 8-9,000 tons of coal per day.
