General Description
Location: The Port of Dammam, also known as King Abdul Aziz Port, is located on an artificial island approximately 5 nautical miles off the coast, around 50 kilometers south of Ras Tanura.
Overview: The Port of Dammam is the largest port in the Persian Gulf and ranks as the second busiest port in North Africa and the Middle East combined, after the Jeddah Islamic Port.
The port mainly handles the export services for the oil industry and features 43 cargo handling berths, a small craft harbor, and various support terminals such as a refrigerated cargo terminal, bulk grain terminal, and vessel repair facility.
It also boasts fully operational services, modern cargo handling equipment, and container and general cargo support terminals, including a 1st and 2nd container terminal.

IMO Class 1 handling
- Loading / Dishcarging: Permited Only IMO Containers can be discharged/loaded on Direct Delivery, Discharging will be done during day light hours. Cargo documents (packing list, manifest, stowage plan, and BL copies) approval to be taken from the Saudi Governor and same has to be done at least 7 working days before vessel arrival. Consignee/Shipper should get approval from concerned authorities well in advance.
- Transit/ Transhipment: Should get the Saudi Governer's & Coast Guard approval by submitting the Cago documents prior to 7 days before vessel arrival.
