General Description
Khalifa Port is the Abu Dhabi Ports' flagship deepwater port. It is a gateway to Abu Dhabi and handles all of the emirate’s container traffic. The transfer of container traffic from Zayed Port was completed in December 2012.
Khalifa Port has a Phase 1 capacity of 2.5 million TEUs and 12 million tonnes of general cargo a year and an expected capacity of 15 million TEUs and 35 million tonnes of general cargo by 2030.
Terminals for general cargos:
- South Quay (9 berths, 823 000 sqm terminal yard, 3 km quay wall, 18.5 m draft)
- Khalifa Port Logistics (8 berths, 1 300 000 sqm terminal yard, 3 km quay wall, 8 to 16 m draft)
- CMA CGM Terminals Khalifa Port (1 800 000 TEU, 18.5 m draft, 800 m Quay Wall length)
- Autoterminal Khalifa Port (15 000 vehicle capacity, 18.5 m draft, 600 m Quay Wall length, 2 Berths, 320 000 sqm area)
- CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal (2 500 000 TEU, 18.5 m draft, 11 STS Cranes, 3 Berths, 1200 m Quay Wall length, 32 ASC Cranes)
- Fujairah Terminals (720 000 TEU, 15 m depth alongside, 2 STS Cranes, 4 Berths, 1000 m Quay Wall length, 32 ASC Cranes, 15 minutes truck turn around time)
- Abu Dhabi Terminals (5 300 000 TEU, 18.5 m depth alongside, 22 STS Cranes, 6 Berths, 2095 m Quay Wall length, 106 ASC Cranes)

-Receiver will have to arrange sufficient trailers to received Heavy / Lengthy cargo directly from vessel’s hook.
-Stevedoring charges each unit 20 FRT or more AED 16
-Port works 7 days / 24hours per week (Sunday completely on O/T).
-Normal working hours: 07:00 Hrs to 12:00 Hrs / 13:00 Hrs to 16:00 Hrs.
-Overtime working hours: 12:00 Hrs to 13:00 Hrs/ 16:00 Hrs to 07:00 Hrs.
-Overtime charges: AED 205/- per gang hour or part thereof.
-All hours worked on Sunday AED 205/- per gang hour or part thereof.
-All hours worked on public holidays AED 310/- per gang hour or part thereof

Mobile crane hire rates
- 0-20 tons - Harbour Mobile - AED 300 / hr
- 21-40 tons - Harbour Mobile - AED 575 / hr
- 41-65 tons - Harbour Mobile - AED 800 / hr
- 100 tons - Gottwald Harbour Crane - AED 2500 / hr
- 0-25 tons - Lorry Mounted Crane - AED 400 / hr
- 26-50 tons - Lorry Mounted Crane - AED 600 / hr
- 51-75 tons - Lorry Mounted Crane - AED 800 / hr
Note: allocation of cranes is subject to availability and weights / distances to be lifted. Abu Dhabi Ports reserves the right to assign the crane most suitable, for the work that is to be performed. Minimum 3 hrs rental when booking cranes in Musaffah, Mina Freeport's and Mugharraq Port.
If equipment is cancelled after the deployment Abu Dhabi Ports apply 50% surcharge towards the first hr of equipment rental in line with applicable tariff id.
The hire of above equipment is inclusive of driver and fuel but does not include insurance which is responsibility of the party hiring the equipment, During overtime (Sunday & public holidays), driver/operator overtime rate @ AED 85 / hr or part thereof will aply.

IMO Class 1:
- Shifting of IMO containers is NOT allowed.
- Loading / Discharging:
GHQ NOC required for HM approval. Port will not allow for Indirect delivery. Ship must place suitable trailer to deliver cargo directly from trailer to vessel hook.
Port/Terminal will berth the vessel only after deployment of trailers form consignee end to received entire DG cargo from vessel.
- Transhipment not allowed.
- Transit is possible subject to No objection from HM.
