General Description
Location: The Port of Sikka is situated on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kutch, on the NW Indian coastline.
General overview: The Port of Sikka, operated by M/S Reliance Ltd, was constructed to serve the Oil refinery. It consists of:
- The Ammonia berth at the LCB Jetty
- The SDCC cement lighterage wharf
- The Lo-Lo/Ro-Ro jetty of RPL
The Jamnagar Marine Terminal has 10 berths in total, which consists of 5 tanker berths and 5 SPM'S.
Cargoes:
- Imports: Phosphoric acid, liquid ammonia, coal, machinery, crude oil and propylene.
- Exports: Clinker, cement and salt.
Traffic figures:
Sikka port handles approximately 9,000,000t of imported liquid ammonia and phosphoric acid annually.
Jamnagar Terminal handles approximately 850 vessels and 53,000,000t of crude and products annually.
