General Description
Location: The Port of Jeddah, located on the Red Sea coast, serves as the principal port of Saudi Arabia and occupies a strategic position along the international shipping route connecting the east and west via the Suez Canal.
General overview: The Port of plays a crucial role in the nation's maritime trade, handling 56% of the total annual national seaborne tonnage and 67% of all imported foodstuffs. It is the second largest and second busiest port in the Arab world, following the Port of Jebel Ali in Dubai, UAE.
Jeddah's significance lies in its ability to efficiently manage 65% of Saudi Arabia's sea imports, supporting the commercial centers of the country.
Equipped with comprehensive facilities, the port boasts container terminals, Ro-Ro and passenger terminals, a desalination plant, a bulk grain terminal, grain, flour, and rice mills, as well as separate terminals for livestock, frozen goods, and offshore oil.
With 62 berths, the port accommodates a wide range of cargo handling, including passengers, containers, general cargo, livestock, bulk grains, and vehicles.
Jeddah Port serves as Saudi Arabia's primary gateway for imports and exports, making it the Red Sea's prominent re-export hub. Approximately 75% of the country's exports and inbound transshipment flow through this port.
The infrastructure includes specialized terminals with advanced equipment, such as two container terminals with a combined capacity of 7.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), a fully integrated logistics village for bonded storage and re-export, two general cargo terminals, two vessel service and repair berths, livestock berths capable of accommodating seven million heads annually, berths for marine services like tugging and guidance, and fully equipped terminals catering to pilgrims, tourists, and inbound/outbound travelers.

- Transhipment: Not allowed.
