Location: The Freeport of Monrovia is situated on Bushrod Island near Monrovia
General overview: The Freeport of Monrovia is an artificial harbour with 2 breakwaters, built by the US Military during WWII. It's a landlord port with concessions partnerships with APM Terminals, Firestone, China Union, and Western Cluster.
The main pier can berth 3-4 ships, with three finger piers: LMC, NIOC, and BMC.
Tanker facilities are limited to a length of 198.1m for crude oil discharge, with one berth open for discharge and bunkering, limited to 213.4m length and 10.06m depth.
The port exports iron ore, rubber, latex, coffee, cocoa, timber, and seafood, while imports include petroleum products, building materials, and general cargo.
