Location: The Port of Jubail is located approximately 90km north of Dammam in the Persian Gulf.
General overview: The Port of Jubail comprises two harbours: the King Fahad Industrial Port to the north and the Jubail Commercial Port to the south. The ports are protected by their own breakwaters, with an additional central breakwater running north to south.
King Fahad Industrial Port:
As one of the largest industrial ports in the Middle East, it serves as the gateway to the world's largest petrochemical complex. The port specializes in handling imports of raw materials for local industries and exports of petrochemicals, refined petroleum products, chemical fertilizers, and sulfur. It plays a crucial role in supporting the Kingdom's prominence in the global oil and gas industry. The port features 34 berths and serves as a major outlet for petrochemicals produced in Jubail Industrial City.
Jubail Commercial Port:
Serving as the backup port for King Abdul Aziz Port in Jubail, the Jubail Commercial Port offers strategic advantages due to its proximity to the Jubail industrial and petrochemical complex. It facilitates cost-effective material imports and exports, enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness. Spanning approximately 44 square kilometers on reclaimed land, the port encompasses 16 berths, making it one of the largest man-made ports in the world.
Exports from the ports include refined oil products, LPG, LNG, petrochemicals, iron and steel goods, aluminium, and sulphur. Imports consist of iron ore concentrate, limestone, bulk and bagged fertilizers, alumina, and salt
