Location: The Ras Tanura Port is situated on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia, is the world's largest oil port.
General overview: The Ras Tanura Port handles 90% of the country's hydrocarbon exports, equivalent to 20% of global consumption.
With a capacity to accommodate over 2,000 oil vessels annually and load/unload 16 vessels simultaneously, the port moves more than 9 million barrels of hydrocarbons daily. It has five specialized terminals, including those for crude oil, LPG, and bunkering.
The Ras Tanura Port features key facilities such as the Port Control Centre and Port Radar Station.
The North Pier handles various commodities including crude oil, products, LPG, naphtha, and bunkers.
The port also includes four interconnected Sea Islands with berths for crude and fuel oil.
The Ju'aymah Crude Terminal, located 18 nautical miles northwest of Ras Tanura, consists of an oil platform, a control platform, and six Single Point Mooring buoys for crude oil and bunkers.
Additionally, the Ju'aymah LPG Terminal has a two-berth pier at the end of a 10-kilometer trestle, dedicated to loading refrigerated liquefied petroleum gas (RLPG) onto LPG carriers.
The port's storage capacity exceeds 50 million barrels, and it is equipped with four artificial islands capable of loading six tankers simultaneously.
