Location: Novorossiysk is situated in the N of Novorossiysk Bay in the NE part of the Black Sea. General overview: The port consists of two harbours, Sheskharis Oil Harbour and the dry cargo port. The port specialises in handling grain, sugar, metal, scrap, mineral fertilisers, refrigeration, containers, timber and crude oil cargoes. The Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka CPC-R Marine Terminal is approx 16km SW from the entrance to Novorossiysk Bay and approx 2.6nm offshore. The terminal consists of two SPM's for loading crude into VLCC's. Traffic figures: Approx 4,780 vessels, 86,500,000t of cargo including 188,700TEU handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Dec 1 to Feb 28/29, Summer Mar 1 to Nov 30. Max size: Sheskharis Oil Harbour: LOA 350m, draught 19.0m, 250,000DWT. Dry cargo port: LOA 250m, draught 13.1m. Max 100,000DWT. Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka SPM Nos 1 & 2: BCM 160m, 300,0000DWT.
