General Description
Location: Arzew is situated 30km E of Oran on the W side of the Golfe d'Arzew.
General overview: The port consists of Arzew Harbour and Arzew-El-Djedid (Bethioua) 4.8km SE (see separate entry). The port has a water area of 17ha with a total quayage of 4,500m. The South Jetty has been rebuilt providing an extra 25,000m² of wharf space. The main exports from the harbour are crude oil and products, salt, fertiliser, LNG, LPG and ammonia.
Arzew-El-Djedid is a dedicated LNG/LPG export terminal.
Traffic figures: Approx. 3,000 vessels and 67,000,000t of cargo are handled annually, these figures include Bethioua.
Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA 298m, draught 27m, 170923DWT.
The Sea Terminal handles vessels up to 250,000DWT.
