Location: Aveiro is situated on the W coast of Portugal, on the Ria de Aveiro, 30 n.m. south of Porto and 120 n.m. north of Lisbon.
General overview: The port of Aveiro is divided into five port zones that are special areas. They are the North Terminal of the Commercial Sector, the Chemicals Terminal, the Off Shore Fishing Sector, the South Terminal of the Commercial Sector and the Coastal Fishing Sector. Navalria Drydocks terminal comprises 5 berths for passenger vessels. Aveiro is a sheltered river port handling dry and liquid bulk, fish, wood, metal, project and breakbulk cargo. Aveiro is a multi-functional port which plays a crucial role in serving a wide range of industries in its hinterland, such as the ceramics, chemical, winemaking, metallurgic, wood and derivatives industries, as well as the agricultural food and construction sectors.
