General Description
Location: Merak Petroleum Base, also known as Tanjung Sekong, is located on the W coast of Java, approx 25nm W of Jakarta. General overview: This is a private port close to Merak, operated by PT Santa Fe Pomeroy with the jetties managed by the Merak Port Administrator. The port is an import terminal for barite and bentonite ores, an offshore oil fabricating yard and small tanker/LPG terminal. Traffic figures: Over 850 vessels visit the port annually.
