General Description
Location: Semangka Bay Terminal is situated off the SE coast of Sumatra, W of the Sunda Straits. General overview: Pertamina use Semangka Bay as an LPG storage area, by chartering in up to three Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGC) with a combined capacity of up to 300,00t of refrigerated LPG. This is then offloaded into small coastal LPG vessels for distribution to Jakarta and other ports. Traffic figures: Approx 200 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Length 350m, draught 17.0m, 275,000DWT.
