General Description
Location: Rendsburg is situated on the Kiel Canal and River Eider between Km 60 and Km 67.
General overview: Due to its design, equipment and close proximity to a 50-hectare industrial park, is particularly suitable for handling general cargo, heavy cargo, project cargoes and containers. The port area is a nodal point for N/S road and rail traffic and has 2 harbours, the Kreishafen on the N bank and the Obereiderhafen, a long narrow inlet. Extensive ship repair facilities are available. It has two berths for ships that do not exceed a length of 235.0 m, a width of 32.5 m and a draft of 9.5 m. A terminal area of 22,000 m² and a pre-storage area of 15,000 m² are available for handling. The entire port facility can be loaded with up to 90 t / m².
The Rendsburg Port is connected to an intermunicipal industrial area via a heavy-duty and crossing-free road. This area has a total area of 500,000 m² near the port.
