General Description
Location: The Bashayer 1 Crude Oil Terminal (also known as the Marsa Bashayer Export or the Marsa Ain Harees Terminal) is situated 13nm S of Port Sudan on the Red Sea, in position 19°24.13'N 037°19.32'E. General overview: Bashayer 1 is operated by the Greater Nile Petroleum Operation Co. Ltd and is a loading facility for the export of Nile Blend crude oil. The facility consists of a (CALM) SPM Buoy, anchored in approx 54m water depth, 1.8km offshore from the Terminal itself. There is a small jetty, lit at its head, located close to the W of the Terminal, for the use of Terminal support craft only. Traffic figures: 170 vessels annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: LOA 368m, beam 58m, draught 20.3m, 300,000DWT.
