Location: Ashdod is located 40km S of Tel Aviv, at the mouth of Nahal Lakhish. General overview: The Port of Ashdod, operated by the Government, is centered between two breakwaters, 2,200m and 900m in length. Cargoes: - Exports include citrus fruit, fertilisers, chemicals, oil and manufactured goods. - Imports include coal, grain, general cargo and vehicles. Ashdod consists of the following terminals: - Container Terminal (Eitan Terminal) - General Cargo Terminal - Coal Berth - Mineral Berth - Grain Terminal - South Terminal Handling Equipment: - 25 Portal Cranes - 20 RTG's - 120 Forklifts Storage: - Covered (50,000 m²) For General Cargo. - Open & Sheds (450,000 m²) Traffic figures: Approx. 2,400 vessels,18,500,000t of cargo, including 1,015,000TEU and 300,000 passengers handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. IMO Class 1: NO TRANSHIPMENT. Discharging: before loading at the load port cargo IMO declaration + MSDS showing full details of the shipper and receiver to be presented to local authorities + port, only after obtaining their authorization the cargo may be loaded. Discharging is direct delivery. The vessel must have all certificates as per IMO regulation and merger test must be c/o.
