General Description
Location: Paljassaare, formerly known as Kopli is situated in Tallinn Bay in the Baltic Sea. General overview: The bay freezes over in severe winters, the port however is kept open all year round by the use of ice breakers. The port handles the loading and discharging of oil and oil products, general and bulk cargo, timber, reefer cargo and container cargo. Traffic figures: Approx 900 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for vessels of 100m or less in length, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Max LOA 190m, beam 30m, draught 8.6m. The southern area of the port is able to receive tankers up to 120m in length with a draught of 6.0m.
