General Description
Location: The Port of Corpus Christi is located on the W coast of the Gulf of Mexico, approx 18nm from open sea, in Corpus Christi Bay.
General overview: The port encompasses four divisions, Harbor Island Oil Terminals, Ingleside, La Quinta and Inner Harbor. It specialises in handling bulk cargoes especially petroleum, chemicals, ores, containers and grains. A Free Trade Zone has been developed and recently shale oil cargoes loaded for other US ports.
Traffic figures: Approx 6,744 vessels and 80,300,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Draught 13.7m.

5. VESSEL WILL BE REQUIRED TO LINE SHIFT FORWARD AND AFT SEVERAL TIMES USING SHIPS CREW AND SHIPS LINES ACCOUNT THE LENGTH OF TRAVEL OF THE CONVEYOR LOADER ON THE DOCK IS ONLY 350 FEET.
6. (PETCOKE) LOADING RATE IS 700 TO 900 M/T PER HOUR FOR PETCOKE.
AS THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT SUPPLIERS OF PETCOKE IN CORPUS CHRISTI THE LOAD RATE VARIES FROM SUPPLIER TO SUPPLIER.
7. WORKING HOURS ARE 20 HOURS OUT OF EACH 24 HOUR PERIOD.
VESSELS ARE NORMALLY WORKED WEEKDAYS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. THE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS IS CHRISTMAS (DECEMBER 25TH) AND LABOR DAY (1ST MONDAY IN SEPTEMBER).
7) AVAILABILITY OF BUNKERING
1. FUEL OIL MAY BE LOADED BY BARGE.
2. DIESEL OIL MAY BE LOADED BY BARGE OR TRUCK BUT IF BY TRUCK A VERY LONG HOSE WILL BE NECESSARY.

IF THE VESSEL IS OVER 130,000 DWT OR 900 LOA THEY MUST USE 2 PILOTS AND CAN MOVE ONLY IN DAYLIGHT. SEE UNDER KEEL
CLEARANCE NOTE IN NO. 4 ABOVE. OTHERWISE VESSELS MAY MOVE ANYTIME DAY OR NIGHT, 24 HOURS PER DAY.
