General Description
Location: Santa Panagia Oil Terminal (previously named Melilli Oil Terminal), is located at the SE end of Baia di Panagia, close S of Augusta on the E coast of Sicily. General overview: The Santa Panagia Bay is wide and open, free of navigational hazards and offers a good anchorage. A terminal servicing the ISAB Refinery of Priolo Gargallo, consists of 1 main pier with 4 alongside berths for crude, fuel and gas oils, kerosene, propane and butane, with a small "T" jetty for coasters leading from the SE side. A separate oil terminal in the bay, owned by Magnisi Somicem, has a pier which can berth one vessel. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Berth No 6: LOA 370m, draught 22.5m, 385,000DWT. Berth No 1 LPG: 5,000DWT. Magnisi Oil Terminal: LOA 200m, depth 11.6m.
