General Description
Location: The Porto Piccolo or Porto Marmoreo is located to the east of the island of Ortigia, which includes the inner part of the Arsenal (Lakkios), site of the reclaimed Syrako lagoon.
General overview: Porto Marmoreo is a sub port of Siracusa. Protected by two breakwaters, it has a total of 640 berths for boats up to 20 meters long. The maximum depth inside the harbor is 3 meters. Port docks are operated by five different private marinas offering mooring service for boats in transit. The marinas are following:
-Santa Lucia quay free berth - 30 berths (small tonnage);
-Landing point S. Lucia floating piers for pleasure - 130 berths various services;
-Italian Navy League wooden piers for pleasure craft - 300 berths for various services;
-Circolo Velico Sailing Club wooden jetties for pleasure craft - 150 berths for various services;
-Aretusa Sailing Club floating pontoons for sailing boats - 30 small tonnage berths (seasonal);
-Yacht Club Lakkios can accommodate boats up to 16 meters in length and a draft of 3 meters with services on 80 meters perimeter of a quay and a floating pier of 50 meters.
