Location: The port of Geraldton is situated at the S of Champion Bay on Point Moore in Western Australia, 424km N of Perth. General overview: The port handles exports of talc, zinc and copper concentrates, mineral sands, zircon, wheat, lupins, oats, barley, canola, livestock, stockfeeds, also iron ore and manganese. Imports handled include petroleum products, mineral sands and fertilisers. Geraldton workshops have ship repair facilities, and the port is both road and rail-linked. Traffic figures: Approx 330 vessels and 6,435,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Max LOA 225m; max beam 32.5m, max draught 11.6m at zero tide, 12.8m at high tide of 1.3m, 80,000DWT. Largest vessel handled: MV Sea of Harvest 81,383DWT. Vessels with draught over 10.0m are subject to DUKC program.
