General Description
Location: The port of Tangshan, also known as Jingtang, is located to the SE of Tangshan City, 105km from Qinhuangdao in the NE and 180km from Tianjin in the W. General overview: The port has two areas, the Jingtang (Tangshan) area and Caifeidian area, which is 50km to the S. The Tangshan area was built in 1988 and currently consists of 16 berths, with considerable land reclamation work in progress. The port has a coastline of 6km and a land area of 20km². Main cargoes handled include coal, coke, pig iron, ores, steel, cement, salt, general cargo, containers, agriproducts, fertilisers, LPG and grain. Max size: Berths No 1-11: LOA 200m, beam 32m, draught 10.5m. Berth No 31 (coal/iron ore): LOA 230m, beam 32.4m, draught 14.0m, 70,000DWT on HW tide.
