General Description
Location: Imbituba is situated on the S coast of Santa Catarina, SE Brazil. The port is located inside the Bay of Imbituba with Cape Imbituba to the W.
General overview: Private port. There are a total of 4 quays for cargo operations, coal is the major commodity due to the close proximity to a major mining region. Main exports include general, reefer cargo, bulk and wood pulp. Imports include general, liquid and bulk cargoes, paper and glass. Port has a major road and rail link.
Berths: Three multipurpose berths and one Ro-Ro berth. Berth No. 1 is at the north end and Berth No. 2 at the south end of the old dock.

Load line zone: Summer.
Anchorage: The anchorage (Lat. 28° 14' 00" S, Long. 48° 38' 40" W) is on the alignment Silo-Ponta da Ribanceira, with a depth of 13.0 m., with sand bottom. It is sheltered from southerly, northerly and westerly winds, but not from easterly winds. No anchorage permitted in the harbour basin except with prior authorisation from Harbour Master and Port Authority.
Max size: LOA 200m, draught 9.5m to 10.1m (with 1m tide).
