Location: Basarabi (also known as Murfatlar) is a port on the right bank of the Danube - Black Sea Canal situated at Km 25. General overview: The port basin has an area of 14ha with min depth of 6.5m. The port is provided with passenger station, general cargo, warehouses, specialized berths and shipyard for technical vessels. The port consists of 6 operating berths, 2 waiting berths and 1 passenger berth. Traffic figures: Approx 840 vessels and 414,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Dec 1 to Feb 28/29, Summer Mar 1 to Nov 30. Max size: Draught 5.5m to 6.5m.
