The shipping platform

Location: Weifang Port is located 60km from Weifang City, Shandong Province, at the mouth of Mihe River on the S coast of the Bohai Sea. General overview: The main port area is located towards the end of 10km long breakwater which stretches out from the older port to deeper waters beyond the mouth of the Mihe River. Weifang Port is privately owned and operated by Weifang Sime Darby Port Co. Cargo handled by the port includes raw salt, petroleum products, clay and wood chips. Rapid development continues with a new 4.36km embankment, E and W wave breakers and the completion of 3x10,000t berths at the end of 2010. Traffic figures: Traffic has continued to increase which a significant rise from 2009 of 9.7mt to 12.4mt in 2010.
