General Description
Location: The Port of Tokuyama is situated on the ONland Sea coast of Honshu in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
General overview: The Port of Tokuyama covers the cities of Shunan, Kudamatsu and Hikari and has been designated a port of special importance. The bay area is sheltered by islands and includes several private terminals, such as Tosoh Corp, Tokuyama Corp, and Idemitsu.
The Port of Tokuyama in Yamaguchi Prefecture has several wharves for different types of cargo:
Shenglong wharf: located at the southwest end of Dadao peninsula. It has a 40,000 ton berth with a water depth of 12 meters.
Dapu wharf: located on the west bank of Dadao Peninsula, has three berths with a water depth of 11-12m, which is an oil berth for 25,000-50,000 DWT ships.
West South China Sea crude oil berth: can reliably berth 270,000 DWT oil tankers.
Central terminal: has three 3,000-30,000 ton oil berths.
Nazhi wharf: with two 7,000 DWT berths, is located in the east of Deshan peninsula.
Qinghai wharf: located in the west of Deshan Peninsula, has a length of 780 meters and a water depth of 6-10 meters. It can dock two 3,000, 5,000 and 15,000 DWT ships each.
Nanyang cement plant dock: located on the west bank of Chuankou, Futian, with three berths of 3,000 tons of raw materials and finished products.
Futian general cargo terminal: has a 15,000 ton, 5,000 ton general cargo berth and a 35,000 ton crude salt berth.
Hong Kong berths: more than 20 berths of more than 1,000 tons, of which more than 10 are 10,000 tons. The largest marine berth is 270,000 tons. Most of them are handling crude oil from refineries. There are also raw salt from alkali plants and cement plants, with little limestone, cement and general cargo.
