General Description

Location: The Port of Rabigh, located on the eastern coast of the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, approximately 66 nautical miles north of Jeddah Islamic Seaport, falls within the Province of Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. General overview: The Port of Rabigh is a deep-water port safeguarded by an offshore barrier reef that runs parallel to the coastline. It comprises several sections, including the Oil Cargo Port and Refinery, Pioneer Port, Dry Cargo Port, and Dry Cargo Pier. The port's operations are managed by Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh), a Saudi Arabia-based company renowned for producing and marketing refined hydrocarbon and petrochemical products. Notably, Petro Rabigh is the leading producer of various petrochemical products in the region and holds the distinction of being the sole producer of propylene oxide in the Middle East. Handling Equipment: - Quay Cranes Storage: - Open Yards - Warehouses - Oil & Chemical Tanks Traffic Figures: The port handles approximately 300 vessels each year, with annual imports totaling around 10 million tons of crude oil, annual exports of 10 million tons of petroleum products, and 14 million tons of sulfur. Max size: The port can accommodate the largest vessels with the following specifications: maximum (LOA) of 350 meters, beam of 55 meters, maximum draft of 23.5 meters, deadweight tonnage (DWT) capacity of 325,000 tons, and a maximum vessel age of 15 years. For tankers, the minimum vessel size accepted is 30,000 DWT. IMO Class 1 handling - Loading: Requires Shipper details and approval from the Port Authorities and the operation will be based on Direct load on Vessel. - Discharge: Full manifest with Port of Loading & Port of Discharge as the same required to be submitted to local Coast guard and concerned authorities. - Transhipment: Not allowed. - Transit: Full manifest with Port of Loading & Port of Discharge as the same required to be submitted to local Coast guard and concerned authorities.
