General Description
Location: The port of Shilong is located in Shilong town where the S branch stream of the Dongjiang River separates from the N main stream of the Dongjiang River on the lower reaches on the Zhujiang (Pearl) River Delta. The Dongjiang River is the main navigating route for ships to visit ports on the river, along the coastline and ports such as Hong Kong, Macau and ports in south-eastern Asia. General overview: The main cargoes handled in the port are coal, metallic and non-metallic ore, ore material, chemical fertiliser, agricultural chemical and manufactured goods for daily use. The port of Shilong has an overall shoreline of 6km with a land area of 140,000m² and a water area of 1,200,000m². It has 2 operational areas, Laogang and Xingang. Laogang area: This area is located on the S bank of the N main stream of the Dongjiang River. Xingang area: This area is located on the N bank of the N main stream of the Dongjiang River.
