General Description

Location: The Port of Ishinomaki is situated on the NE coast of Honshu, gracefully nestles on the estuary of Kitakami River, offering a gateway to the region's thriving trade and transportation. General overview: The Port of Ishinomaki is managed and operated by the Port and Harbor Section, City of Ishinomaki. Services began in 1964, and in 1991 it became a multi-purpose international terminal port. The port has 6 new berths with an alongside depth of 14 meters and an 87.1 hectare industrial site. The south breakwater was extended to cover 1740 meters with depths ranging from 10 to 14 meters. Public Berths: Siomi Pier (290 meters, 4.5 meters depth, 1,000 DWT) Major Pier (320 meters, 5.5 meters depth, 2,000 DWT) Two Day Harmony Pier berths (165 meters, 15 meters depth, 10,000 DWT) (185 meters, 10 meters depth, 15,000 DWT) Major Pier’s berth (260 meters, 7.5 meters depth, 5,000 DWT) Nakajima Pier (60 meters, 4.5 meters depth, 1,000 DWT) Nakajima Pier: Berth 1 (130 meters, 5.5 meters depth, 2,000 DWT) Berth 2 (370 meters, 10 meters depth, 15,000 DWT) South Beach Pier: Berth 1 (165 meters, 9 meters depth, 10,000 DWT) Berth 2 (130 meters, 7.5 meters depth, 5,000 DWT) Skylark Nonaka Pier (520 meters, 13 meters depth, 40,000 DWT) Skylark Field North Pier (170 meters, 10 meters depth, 15,000 DWT) Day Harmony Pier (380-meter berth, 4.5 meters depth, 1,000 DWT) South Beach Pier (165 meters, 10 meters depth, 15,000 DWT) Private Docks: 14 berths with a total length of 725.4 meters, depths ranging from 4.5 to 7.5 meters. Private quay (240 meters, 4.5 meters depth, 10,000 DWT) Inner harbor: 1.1 thousand meters of berths with depths ranging from 2 to 4.5 meters. Kadowaki Pier supports passenger traffic. Omagari Port Harbor: Two berths handling aquatic products and miscellaneous goods. Storage facilities: - Transit Sheds - Open Storage Cargoes: Ishinomaki mainly handles chips, logs, coal, cattle, fertilizers, general cargoes and mineral by-products. Load line zone: Summer.
