General Description
Location: The Port of Rumoi is situated on the western coast of Hokkaido.
General overview: The Port of Rumoi is strategically located near the estuary of the Liumeng River and serves as a major logistical center for the surrounding Kamikawa/Sorachi region.
The port facilities consist of more than 10 intermediate berths that are primarily used to handle a wide range of commodities including coal, cement, oil, groceries, general cargo, containers, and petroleum. In recent years, the Port of Rumoi has become increasingly engaged in the shipping of timber and coal from its hinterland.
