Location: Doha port is situated in the S part of Kuwait Bay. General overview: This is a small coastal port with a depth of 4.3m which was constructed on reclaimed land. Inside the main port basin there are 9 piers of 2,600m total length. The port is used to berth dhows, barges and coastal vessels operating between gulf ports. The majority of cargo handled is timber and vegetables. Traffic figures: Approx 7,000 small vessels handled annually. Cargo discharged approx 200,000t and cargo loaded approx 2,300t annually. Average daily cargo handling rate 560t. Load line zone: Tropical.
