Location: The Butinge Marine Terminal is an offshore SPM buoy terminal located 3.9 nautical miles off the coast of Palanga in the Baltic Sea. (56°02.8'N 020°57.6'E)
General overview: The Butinge Marine Terminal is connected to the Polotsk-Mazeikiai oil pipeline and operates 24/7, weather permitting. The terminal uses advanced environmental technologies, including a computer-based leak detection system.
The complex includes a crude oil pipeline, onshore terminal equipment and tanks at Butinge, offshore pipeline, and a single point mooring (SPM) buoy.
