General overview: The port has facilities for the handling of general and bulk cargoes, with the major cargoes being coal, timber, fertiliser, feedstuffs and scrap metal. The port also has facilities to handle cruise traffic, either in dock or by ship's tender. Heavy lifts and wind energy support handling available. Some berths have direct rail access. Traffic figures: Approx 1,000,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: River Berths: LOA 110m, draught 6.2m, 5,000DWT. Griffin Dock: LOA 95m, beam 18m, draught 5.8m, 3,000DWT.
