Location: Greenock is situated on the southern bank of the River Clyde at the northern end of the Firth of Clyde. General overview: The principal container dock and harbour facilities for Glasgow, comprising the Greenock Ocean Terminal and James Watt Dock. With extensive back up area behind the quay, the Greenock Ocean Terminal is well suited for handling feeder container trade, cruise ships and large Ro-Ro vessels. The port also handles forest products. Traffic figures: Approx 300,000t of cargo and 80,000TEU handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Greenock Terminal: LOA 340m, min depth 11.7m CD. James Watt Dock: LOA 170m, beam 21.3m, draught 4.9m.
