General Description
Location: Chan May Port is located in the south-east corner of Thừa Thiên–Huế Province, Vietnam, on the east coast, 20 n.m. NNW of Da Nang and 275 n.m. SSE of Haiphong.
General overview: Chan May Port is operated by the Management Board of Chan May-Lang Co Economics Zone. It is a multipurpose coastal cargo port, handles passengers, bulk, containers, breakbulk and timber. The port is mainly used for the wood chip industry. As of September 2012 there are no passenger facilities at Chan May Port.
The total area of the Chan May Port is 668,53 ha, including about 442,19 hectares of land and 226,34 acres of water. Chan May port is a general port and a specialized wharf for international tourist cruise ships. At present, Chan May Port has a wharf with a length of 480 m and a depth of 12.5 m. The port can welcome the wholly-loaded ships of up to 50,000 DWT and cruise ships up to 632 m long.
