Location: Vung Ang port is situated on the W side of Cape Ron, in Ha Tinh province. General overview: The port which was opened in 2001 handles general cargo and containers, on new Berth No 2. The sub port of Son Duong, 4km SE, has yet to be constructed. Vung Ang is a multipurpose port serving the Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces. Principal cargoes handled include woodchips, breakbulk, LPG and petroleum products. Traffic figures: Approx 815,000t of cargo and 245 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: - Breakbulk: 49,500 d.w.t., LOA 270 m., draft 12.5 m. - Bulk: 30,000 d.w.t., draft 9.6 m. - Products: 25,000 d.w.t., draft 10.0 m. - Gas: 25,000 d.w.t., draft 10.0 m. IMO: IMO cargo can be discharged & loaded - Manifest & BL are to be submitted in 3- 4 days prior to arrival. Transit cargo can be accepted in all ports of Vietnam, Manifest is to be submitted in 3 days before arrival.
