General Description
Location: Kota Baru port is located on the N coast of Pulau Laut Island which is situated off the S coast of Kalimantan Selatan. General overview: The construction of the NPLCT coal terminal nearby has expanded Kota Baru as a commercial port opened to international trade. In addition, it also handles inter island and ocean going passenger traffic. Main exports are coal, logs, rattan, rubber and fish products. Coal is handled alongside berth and via lighters at the Tanjung Pemancingan anchorages. Traffic figures: Approx 12,000,000t of coal and 160 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Oil jetty: LOA 130m, 6,500DWT. NPLCT: The max size of vessel that can be accommodated is LOA 320m, 41m beam, 14.0m + tide - 10% UKC draught and approx 150,000DWT. Minimum size of vessel accepted is 10,000DWT. Largest vessel handled: ''Navalis'', LOA 270.88m, beam 43.0m and 133,661DWT.
