Location: Hambantota is located on the S coast of Sri Lanka, about 240km S of Colombo.
General overview: The Port of Hambantota (officially named Magampura), operated by CMPort, is the most diversified port in Sri Lanka. A MPP port which provides services to bulk, container, Ro/Ro, break bulk, project cargo, oil, gas, bunkering and cruise.

IMO:
Only local Import and on board in transit is allowed.
Need to obtain Sri Lanka Ministry of Defence (MOD) permission prior to vessel's arrival. MOD will take 3 working days for clearance, subject to the documents in order.
IMO onboard in transit subject to prior approval from authorities, transhipment not allowed in Sri Lanka ports.
