General Description
Location: Qinhuangdao is located on the NW coast of the Gulf of Bo Hai in Northern China. General overview: The port is divided into two areas, the East Port which handles mainly energy products including the loading and unloading of coal and petroleum products and the West Port handling containers, bulk cargo and general cargo. The port is primarily a bulk export terminal handling coal from Shangsi Province and Mongolia. Other cargoes handled include grain, ore, crude oil, naphtha, timber, steel, cement, liquid chemicals, fertiliser, edible oil, containers and livestock. The port has 46 berths, of which 42 are for vessels of 10,000DWT and above. Qinhuangdao Port Group is now part of the Hebei Port Group, combining with the ports of Caofeidian and Huangye to become one of the world's largest bulk cargo port organisations in terms of throughput.
