General Description
Location: Campana is located on the left bank (from seaward) of the Parana de las Palmas arm of the Delta from seaward, 155 miles by river from Buenos Aires, Martin Garcia, or 60 miles via Mitre Channel.
General overview: The port is mainly used for receiving and despatching petroleum and its products. There are also facilities for handling timber and general cargo, as well as steel tubes for the petroleum industry, both for internal requirements and for export, which are made here.
Berths:
●Siderca Wharf: length: 185 m; depth: 11 m; remarks: discharge of iron ore by travelling crane.
●National Mole: length: 116 m; depth: 6 m; remarks: loading anf discharge of cargo by 3x3 tons electric cranes.
●Carboclor: depth: 11 m; remarks: loading and discharge of liquid chemicals at rates up to 1000 cu.m.p.h.
●Tolueno: depth: 6 m; remarks: loading nad discharge of liquid chemical products to coasters.
●Esso refinery berths:
-Jetty A: For discharge of dirty ballast and tank washings. Max. LOA 100 m. Depth alongside 20 ft.
-Jetty C: Max. size 60,000 S.d.w.t. Max. LOA 230 m., min. LOA 40 m. Max. draft 9.0 m. Depth alongside 40 ft. Berth consists of a platform on piles with 9 pipelines for crude, fuel oil, gas oil, petroleum, refined products and slops. Fresh water available.
-Jetty E: Max. size 25,000 S.d.w.t. Max. draft 7.7 m. Berth consists of concrete platform on wooden piles and 1 concrete dolphin. Tugs compulsory for berthing and unberthing. There are 20 connections for crude oil, refined products, additives, lubricants and slops. Fresh water available.
-Jetty G: Max. size 10,000 S.d.w.t. Max. LOA 100 m. Max. draft 3.7 m. Depth alongside 18 ft. Berth consists of a concrete platform (14 m. long) on piles with 13 connections for crude oil, refined products and slops. Vessel lies against 2 dolphins. Fresh water available.
-Jetty H: Max. size 45,000 S.d.w.t. Max LOA 220 m., min. LOA 80 m. Max. draft 11.8 m. Depth alongside 45 ft. Berth consists of a concrete platform (16 m. long) on piles with 15 connections for loading/discharging of crude oil, refined products and slops. Fresh water available.
Traffic figures: Approx 150 vessels visit the port annually.
Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA 230m. Max draught is determined by depth/tide at assigned berth or prevailing conditions in access channel and/or principal channel routes.
