General Description
Location: The bay consists of two parts, the W side formed by Tenglo and Angelmo Bay, and the outer part, Puerto Montt Bay. General overview: There is accommodation for general cargo, bulk vessels, Ro-Ro vessels and tankers. The main cargoes handled are fertiliser, wood chips, lumber, frozen fish, general cargo and petroleum. In addition there are also two private petroleum terminals, Puerto Coralle and Calbuco. Traffic figures: Approx 1,270 vessels and 1,064,565t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Southern Winter Seasonal Zone, Winter Apr 16 to Oct 15, Summer Oct 16 to Apr 15. Max size: Draught 9.1m. Largest vessel handled: "Forestal Esmeralda" 65,500DWT, 48,717GT, LOA 230m, beam 35m.
