General Description
Location: Chacabuco is a small port situated in Chacabuco Bay, off Aysen Bay. General overview: Chacabuco Bay offers an excellent anchorage with depths up to 72m. The port is divided into 2 operational zones, Muelle Commercial and Terminal de Transbordadores. The principal cargoes handled at the port are zinc concentrates, lead, wool, timber, cattle, frozen and fresh seafood, containers. There is a regular ferry link to Puerto Quellon on Isla Chloe. Traffic figures: Approx 355 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: Southern Winter Seasonal Zone, Winter Apr 16 to Oct 15, Summer Oct 16 to Apr 15. Max size: LOA 180m, draught 9.6m.
