Location: Coronel is located on the central Chilean coastline, 20nm S of Talcahuano. The port of Coronel is situated in the NE part of Coronel Bay. General overview: The port handles general cargo, containers, coal, wood chips, timber and cellulose from four piers. Terminal Maritimo Oxiquim, a CBM berth, is located to the NE of the port in position 36°56.5S 073°09.9'W, handles caustic soda, naphtha, FO, GO, LPG and Methanol. Traffic figures: Approx 2,500,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Southern Winter Seasonal Zone, Winter Apr 16 to Oct 15, Summer Oct 16 to Apr 15. Max size: General Pier N side: LOA 220m, draught 13.0m, 70,0000DWT. Container Pier: Post Panamax container vessels, draught 13.0m, 70,000DWT. Puchoco Pier: LOA 250m, draught 12.5m, airdraught 22m, 71,000DWT. Jureles Pier: LOA 230m, draught 11.2m, airdraught 20m. Oxiquim CBM: LOA 211m, draught 12.2 m, 40,000DWT.
