Location: Zirku Island, also known as Jazirat Zarakkuh Oil Terminal, is situated in the Persian Gulf approx 75nm WNW of Abu Dhabi. General overview: There are two tanker berths (SPM type) situated 8nm NNW of Zirku Island which are in approx positions: SPM "A" (25°00.5'N 052°59.0'E). SPM "B" (25°01.6'N 052°59.5'E). Only crude oil is exported from the terminal. Traffic figures: Approx 300 tankers are handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: Both SPM's can handle vessels up to 350,000DWT, draught 21.0m. Largest vessel handled: VLCC, 322,446DWT, 21.0m draught.
