Location: Shanwei is a transhipment port located in Honghai Bay in the SE coastal waters of Guandong Province, 78nm from Hong Kong, 116nm from Shantou in the N and 164nm from Guangzhou in the S. General overview: The port water area is approx 4km long, 600-800m wide and water depth ranging from 4.0-6.0m. Ocean going vessels of up to 1,000t can be moored simultaneously. Traffic figures: Approx 1,066,500t of cargo and 18,700TEU handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Draught 6.0m.
