General Description
Location: As Salif (Saleef) is located on the N coastline, facing the E side of the island of Kamaran, 50km N of Hodeidah towards the Saudi Arabian border. General overview: The port is a natural deep water port approached through Madiq Kamaran and sheltered by Kamaran Island. Capable of accepting vessels up to 13.0m draught, the port's primary aim is the reception of bulk grain, vessels discharging into silos. The port exports bulk salt and imports grain and some general cargo. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: LOA 220m, max draught 13.0m, max DWT 55,000t and max load displacement 72,500t.
