General Description
Location: Sarroch, also known as Porto Foxi, is the tanker terminal for the port of Cagliari, in S Sardinia.
General overview: The terminal consists of 13 berths on two finger piers, the main one, the SARAS Refinery Pier, has a deep draught sea island leading seaward from it, serviced by a subsea pipeline. The terminal handles crude oil, oil products, chemicals and LPG. Its two docks can host both recreational boats and tankers. All piers are equipped with flexible loading arms.
Both Island berths (Is. 1 / Is 2) can receive or load fuel oil through a 30” line. Receiving tanks are located approximately 4000 meters away, at a few meters above sea level. Each Island is equipped with four 16” arms, fitted ASA 150 rapid connections measuring 12” / 14” / 16”.
Traffic figures: Approx 26,500,000t of cargo and 1,050 vessels handled annually.
