Location: The Port of Onahama is situated on the eastern coast of Honshu Island, in the Fukushima Prefecture. General overview: The Port of Onahama is protected by an 11,200-meter long network of breakwaters and has a total of 10,100 meters of quayage. It mainly handles the importation of raw materials for local industries and serves as a significant fishing harbor. Plans are underway to expand the port's domestic and foreign container handling capabilities. The main ports within the complex are distributed from northeast to southwest, with varying depths and capacities. The port boasts over 30 major large and medium-sized wharf berths, with over half being deep-water berths with capacities of 10,000 DWT or higher, making it a major port on the east coast.
