General Description
Location: Leros Island (aka Lero) is is an island in southern Aegean Sea (Eastern Mediterranean) and part of Greece's Dodecanese Archipelago. It is located approx 317 km (170 mi) south of Piraeus-Athens.
General overview: Leros Island has two small ports of little commercial importance - Ayia Marina and Port Lakki. Leros port is not located in one area - it consists of the harbor area in the town of Lakki on the southwest coast, and stretches along the bay in the settlement of Agia Marina on the eastern coastline of the island. There are few facilities. Leros is served by regularly scheduled (daily) passenger ferries running the routes from Piraeus to the Dodecanese Islands. Leros Island has a ferry connection with Kalymnos, Rhodes, Kos, Patmos, Lipsi and Symi. Sailings to Kastelorizo, Nisyros, Katapola/ Amorgos and Tilos are only available seasonally.
